This is one of two parts of the computerized pattern analysis system. In the foreground is a shooters bench and in the distance (highlighted area) is the pattern generator. As shown here the system is set up to test at a pattern at 40 yards, although any distance can be used. The pattern analysis system is extremely flexible and an astounding leap forward for shotgun technology. The upcoming shot information is entered into the pattern analysis computer (not shown) prior to patterning. Shot size, number of pellets, feet per second, barrel length, gun make, choke information and many other details can be examined. The shooter is then given the go ahead and the shot is taken. The pattern generator portion of the system traps and collects the pellets to ensure range safety. It also collects and transmits the results of the shot to the pattern analysis computer. This brief tour will attempt to show the vital functions of this system.
